Lethal Injection Debate

Lethal Injections for inmates have been approved in 37 states, however 11 states have suspended their use pending more research. Inmates on death row are protected by a ban on cruel and unusual punishment, however, lethal injections may not have the desired effects and in that case violate the ban. A recent medical review reports that lethal injections do not always work as planned and the people who receive them may suffer by dying slow, painful deaths while being immobilized and suffocating.
Did you know the lethal injection is "one size fits all?" The amount of drug given does not take into account the patients weight. Different people need different amounts of the same drug in order to be effective.
I am sure this has been going on for awhile, but has just now reached the media. While some are arguing for more appropriate ways to handle the inmates on death row others will use this media flurry in order to speak out against corporal punishment.
