Shootings at Virginia Tech

Last updated: 4:52pm (ET)
This tragedy has been labeled as the"deadliest shooting in U.S. history." History may call today, "the virginia tech massacre."
Earlier today, Virginia Tech reported two shootings. A gunmen was said to have gone into one of the largest co-ed student dormitories on campus just after 7am. Two hours later another gunmen (thought to be the same person) went into a building full of classrooms and began shooting. (The two buildings were Norris Hall and Ambler Johnston Hall).
Multiple deaths and several injuries have been reported between the two shootings. Last reports have estimated 33 dead, including the shooter who has been said to have claimed his own life. Approximately 15 are being treated for wounds. The scene at VT is considered to be "mayhem" and utter choas. The killer was said to be a student but it is still unclear what the motive was.
"Virginia Tech has canceled all classes. Those on campus are asked to remain where they are, lock their doors and stay away from windows. Persons off campus are asked not to come to campus," a statement on the university Web site said.
It is being called a "monumental tragedy."
I am shocked at this tragedy. If you have ever been to Blacksburg you know that VT is one of most laid back college campuses there is. Blacksburg is safe, or it felt that way if you were walking across the drill field when coming home from a late night or walking across campus after a football game.
I cannot even begin to express how saddened and horrified I am.
