The "nursing eaiting their young" theory has been hot topic in the nursing field for ages. It is the idea that older, more experienced nurses disrespect and degrade younger, more inexperienced nurses. To be clear it does not necessarily refer to age, but to also amount of experience. It is the idea of a hierarchy in a field where people are supposed to be unified with similiar goals - horizontal hostility.
